!! Meet our Feature: kit tempo
kit tempo is a poet, singer, and otherwise loosely defined “artist”. They are a biracial, nonbinary lesbian who has spent their life as a settler on the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ peoples. kit’s work centers around perpetual recovery, gay yearning, complex ancestry, and re-understanding themself. Also ghosts. They competed at the 2019 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word representing vancouver, and were a finalist in the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam 2020. They have been published in West49 Literary Mag, and Van Pride Magazine. They have also self published three short poetry collections: Like Falling (2018), Hypomanic Girlcrush (2019), and Give ‘Em Hell, Kid (2020). An unreformed emo kid circa 2006, kit is hot shit, full of feelings, and good at it.
